Recruitment Information

 Our department recruits individuals who would like to become trained Firefighters or EMT's.  There is no residency requirement, however, personnel must attend a recruit academy and  must meet a minimum call volume, staffing requirement and remain active with the district.  

Our department recruits Firefighters that hold an Illinois State Fire Marshal's Basic Fire Operations certification.  There is no residency requirement, however, Firefighters must meet a minimum call volume, staffing requirement and remain active with the district. 

Our department recruits Emergency Medical Technicians at the Basic level or higher.  We do not require that EMT's also accept Firefighting roles.  Applicants must have a valid Illinois EMT license and be able to successfully test into the Mercy Health System.
